Our People

act 3's great strength is its people and partnerships:

  • At the core are our principals who are widely regarded as thought leaders in their field. Each brings different expertise and experience, which makes for a strong and diverse team to develop our business and assist our clients. Our principals have an outstanding record of working with the country's top executives and organisations over many years.

  • Our advisory panel includes prominent business leaders who enhance act3 and help us remain at the forefront of thinking on act3 planning.

  • We have established a team of accredited Consultants in Melbourne and Sydney.  All are experienced business leaders in their own right and bring extensive skills and knowledge in managing change at a personal and organisational level.

  • act3's service partners are leaders in their fields - providing expert support in areas such as health management, financial advice and organisational and counseling psychology.
  • We also bring access to an extended network of affiliates who provide complimentary services to help our clients explore their act3 - in fields such as executive recruitment, training and placement of non-executive directors, connection to not-for-profit organisations, etc.
  •

The heart and soul of act3 comes from the principals, who are passionate about helping executives improve their careers and lives through act3 planning.

Our principals believe a "win-win" situation can be created by bringing executives and their companies together to engage in act3 planning.

    Janie Janie Gough

"act3 planning is not about maintaining the status quo. It is about unlocking potential of senior talent and the organisations they work for. I have seen many executives become re-energised through planning and living a 'portfolio lifestyle'. Executives, some of whom felt stale in their roles, were able to realise their full potential through the third-act process. They became an even more valuable resource for their employer."

Janie Gough is one of Australia's most accomplished advisers on business strategy and organisational change initiatives.  She has over 15 years consulting experience, helping some of our leading organisations to implement powerful change strategies through human capital solutions.  Janie has an outstanding ability to identify business opportunities and translate them into successful, implementable solutions.

    Craig Craig Perrett

"Senior executives are often reluctant to discuss third-act planning at a personal level because they feel that in doing so they may inadvertently send a signal that they have disengaged or are wanting to leave. Innovative organisations that are keen to retain senior talent must create an environment where career and life aspirations are discussed openly and without prejudice. When they do, everyone wins".

Craig Perrett is one of Australia's leading corporate advisors, working with CEOs and senior executives of a select group of blue-chip organisations. Craig's expertise in executive development and business growth strategies makes him highly sought after in his field.

    Sandy Dr Sandy Caspi Sable

"act3 planning provides the perfect 'win win' scenario. It enables Executives to develop lifestyle and career options that satisfy their (and their families') professional and personal goals whilst accommodating the real business needs of their organisations."

Sandy Caspi Sable brings over 15 years of specialist commercial experience in Harvard-based negotiation and problem solving to act3. A talented and respected facilitator and former commercial lawyer, Sandy has a highly developed ability to help people systematically work through challenging issues and complex problems.

    Don Don Matthews

Talent retention in an increasingly competitive market place, exacerbated by an ageing workforce is one of the critical issues facing organisations today. The act3 process provides individuals and organisations with the insights which leads to better career decisions and maximises retention.

Don Matthews is an experienced Chief Executive most recently as Chief Operating Officer with Amcor Australasia and prior to that President of SCA Hygiene Australasia. With a passion for people development and innovation in people strategies, Don uses his experience and knowledge to assist organisations and individuals in integrating act3 principles and processes into people systems.

    David David Stratford

"Nobody can tell executives how to plan their 3rd act. Every person is different. Every solution is different. act3 planning is as much about life as it is career. And the process has to involve partners because they are vitally affected. We listen, help people create options and guide them. And we deeply understand the issue at a personal level with our principals successfully creating their own 'portfolio lifestyles'."

David Stratford, a founding director of Davidson and Axmith P/L has been providing specialist consulting services to organisations across the Asia Pacific for 20 years. He has extensive experience in executive career transition, life-career counselling for "3rd acters", and is the author of several articles and books on portfolio living.
